Welcome Back!

Welcome back to school Thetas! We had our first meeting this Thursday and it was so lovely to see all our members back together. Thanks to alumnae Marion for coming back to meeting on Thursday and adding more Theta love to our meeting. Additionally, one of our members is currently interning at Jimmy Choo in New York City and came back to visit this long weekend. Good luck in New York, Alina, can't wait to have you back in the winter!

Look out for McGill Panhellenic's booth during activities night on the 14th and 15th of September to sign up! For more information please come to Panhellenic's recruitment orientation on September 19th - there will be food and drinks provided!

Theta Summers - Josie

Hey Thetas,

I am spending this summer at home with my family in Vancouver. I took Finance at Capilano University during the first half of the summer and am so happy to be done! I am also working as the Director of Marketing for a start up internet company called Wishpond. It is localized product search engine and I am learning so much about my major and am loving my job!!! I have also been studying OB as I am going to be an OBCC this coming semester.

I have also been hiking the Grouse Grind (it kills me), having weekend trips to Whistler, and going to Kits beach a lot to take advantage of the warm weather and the sun! Spending time with my family and friends and spending a lot of time on various patios in downtown Vancouver!! Missing my theta sisters and I can't wait to come back in September and meet all the new PNM's and help then go through initiation as their 'Big Mom'

GREEK WEEK CHAMPIONS!!

Kappa Alpha Theta has won Greek Week (or rather semester) this year with 95 points!!! A big thank you goes to all the Thetas who participated in Greek events throughout this semester! From Talent Night to Athletics Day (KAO's Make a Wish Run) to the end of the year Greek Gala, we've had a blast!

Good luck studying for finals and we'll see you all next year!

Theta Makes A Move!

On Sunday March 28th, the Beta Psi chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta woke up early to help set-up and participate in Make A Wish Foundation's annual Make A Move run. As co-sponsors of the run, Thetas manned tables earlier this month and baked goods to promote the Make A Move run which had a great turnout this year! While some Thetas ran the 5km course, others strolled at their own pace and provided support and enthusiasm for those running. TVMcGill came out to document the race as well as to interview Beta Psi about their involvement in Sunday's run.

The afternoon ended with Thetas celebrating the senior sisters at an annual lunch after the run honouring the graduating Bigs with presentations done by their littles.

Thanks to all who came out! We had a wonderful time and we hope you did too!

Our annual formal took place this year on March 20th at the Delta Hotel and was a huge success! A fun night of good food, dancing, and seeing alumnae from Beta Psi made this event unforgettable. Thank you to Marion and Tess for all their hard work!

Ballroom Blitz!

Ball-room Blitz is an organization that collects prom dresses for young girls who can't financially afford to buy the dress of their dreams. We all know prom night is a special night and wearing a beautiful dress, surrounded by your friends, is part of an unforgettable experience!

This year, our chapter collected 28 dresses for Ballroom Blitz making this year's dress drive the biggest and most successful yet! Thank you to everyone who has brought in dresses and helped us to make some special ladies' prom night extra special! Special mention to Alex Evans who brought in 7 dresses this year making her the winner of our dress drive!

Lotions Not Potions

Project Runway - Theta Style

The secret activity planned for the Sisterhood event was Project Runway! 5 teams of 3 to 4 girls were paired with mis-matched fabric, accessories, scissors and glue guns to produce an outfit that would be judged based on originality, technique, wearability, and design. After 2 hours of cutting, gluing and pinning, a catwalk presentation including a description of the team's inspiration for their creations was used to pick a winner. Beta Psi alum, Julie Brezenski judged the event and announced who was "in" and who was "out". Thanks to Tess Peterson who planned this fun event!

Welcome to Beta Psi's Blog

Hey everyone,

Welcome to our first official blog post! We're excited to share with you all the new developments in the Beta Psi chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta!

Although it seems like March has just begun, us Thetas have had a very busy month! Our casino mixer with the Sigma Chis took place March 4th and was a great success! Although not much money was won, a lot of fun was had. This coming weekend, the Beta Psi chapter is holding a sisterhood event (the activity will remain a secret until then) which our Sisterhood and Social Chair, Tess Peterson, has worked really hard to plan. Can't wait to see what surprise awaits us at the Theta house! Our dress drive for Ballroom Blitz is still on-going and so far we've had 20 dresses donated by Thetas and we're awaiting more from the other sororities who are helping us with our philanthropy. We're also renewing our partnership with Old Mission Brewery in Montreal and we have, thus far, made 2 trips to help serve food and work in their kitchen with help from Sigma Chi.

Upcoming events:

Our annual formal is taking place this year on March 20th and will be held at the Delta Hotel. Thanks to Marion Repka and Tess Peterson for planning this event!

Panhellenic Travelling Dinner will be travelling to all 4 sorority houses on March 23rd from 6-9pm. $10 cover gets you entrace to all 4 houses, international cuisine prepared for you by all houses, and a night of fun! All proceeds will go to charity.

Ballroom dancing mixer with Zeta Psi on April 1st. Our lovely sister Tamara Vorobeychik and her competitive dance partner will be teaming up to show "Zetes and Thets" some moves on the dancefloor
